Mitt Romney Makes Bigoted Comment About Jewish and Palestinian Cultures.

AP: Mitt Romney told Jewish donors Monday that their culture is part of what has allowed them to be more economically successful than the Palestinians, outraging Palestinian leaders who called his comments racist and out of touch.

Mitt Romney said the reason Israelis are economically more prosperous than the Palestinians is because of their culture!! The Palestinians are furious...and rightfully so!! It's bigoted to say that one group is economically more successful than another because of having a perceived superior culture!! It's not a lack of culture that blocks economic prosperity. Romney completely insulted the ancient, Arabic culture that has given the world much great knowledge, music, dance and religion.

Romney is clueless on foreign affairs. Before insulting the Palestinians and other Arabs he insulted the English in England on how they are managing the 2012 Olympics. With such a volatile and delicate world, we can't afford a President Romney going around insulting world leaders!! He's in over his head. Meanwhile, President Obama was busy being Commander-in-Chief ordering the hit on Osama bin Laden while helping to end the brutal, decades-old dictatorship in Libya. In addition to ending the war in Iraq and having a Secretary of State in Hillary Clinton who is wildly respected and popular around the world.

Mitt Romney Criticizes President Obama While Abroad.

There has been a long-standing, bipartisan tradition in America of other politicians not criticizing a sitting president (our government) while those politicians travel abroad. But, as usual, Mitt Romney disregarded personal integrity. According to CNN, Romney said the following:

"President [George W.] Bush urged [deposed Egyptian President] Hosni Mubarak to move toward a more democratic posture, but President Obama abandoned the freedom agenda and we are seeing today a whirlwind of tumult in the Middle East in part because these nations did not embrace the reforms that could have changed the course of their history, in a more peaceful manner," Romney said.

TPJ: Yeah, because the Iraq war was so successful, peaceful and helpful in improving relations with Muslim, Middle-Eastern countries. If you didn't catch it, that was meant to be sarcastic. In true Romney fashion, he's being a hypocrite because before his foreign travel plans he stated he'd avoid the criticizing President Obama overseas. According to The Huffington Post, Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney says he will follow the 'water's edge' tradition of not criticizing President Barack Obama's policies during his international trip."

TPJ: He's undermining U.S. foreign policy and making himself look like an opportunist of the worst kind. I bet he'd sell-out his own grandmother if he thought it would win him the presidency. I'm not saying that President Obama is perfect on foreign affairs but criticizing your country's foreign policy abroad exposes, yet again, a massive deficit of integrity for Mitt Romney. Besides, where's Romney's foreign policy? He loves to bash Obama's foreign policy but fails regularly to provide details of his own plans should he be elected president. Only a coward bashes his opponents policies while not exposing his own policies to the light of scrutiny. What's he have to hide? I use to just disagree with Romney on his political views, but now I really despise the man. He has zero integrity.

Romney Lies About Blind Trust.

Romney is being hypocritical and misleading about his personal finances. Jon Stewart explains it best:

Romney is a billionaire who reminds me of Mr. Burns from "The Simpsons" cartoon show. He's about as trustworthy as Burns. Romney isn't very honest in his dealings for a supposedly Christian man.

Romney Outsourced U.S. Olympic Uniforms to Burma in 2002.

FROM THE HUFFINGTON POST: WASHINGTON -- Mitt Romney was noticeably unwilling Friday to engage in a controversy around the manufacturing of U.S. Olympic uniforms in China, despite criticism from Republican and Democratic lawmakers alike. Congress was up in arms Thursday over the discovery that the U.S. team's uniforms for the opening ceremony of this year's Olympic games were manufactured in China -- snubbing the nation's textile industry at a time when it has yet to recover from the economic downturn (link).
TPJ: The reason that Mitt Romney was unwilling to engage on the controversy was because under his helm leading the 2002 Salt Lake City Olympics, the torchbearer uniforms were made in Burma. Given the recent revelations that Mitt Romney's company, Bain Capital, was a pioneer of outsourcing jobs, I guess nothing says "USA" to Romney than the Burmese dictatorship!! Burma tortures its citizens on a massive scale, murders anti-dictatorship activists, ethnically cleanses native tribes, deals in illegal trade practices and even attack the country's religious leaders!!

Is that what Romney wants America, and our Olympians to represent? The pathetic part is that now that there's another incident of Olympic uniforms being manufactured in a dictatorship, China, Romney still can't bring himself to say it is wrong!! (link). According to "The Political Carnival" Romney outsourced the Olympic pins for the 2002 games to China. He seems to think outsourcing is a perfectly acceptable business practice, so why don't we outsource him by defeating him in November!!

Romney Being Dishonest About his Connection to Bain Capital and Outsourcing Jobs from America.

In the face of charges that Romney's company, Bain Capital, was a "pioneer of outsourcing" jobs to China and elsewhere, he is trying to say he left the company before the outsourcing began. But documents show otherwise:
Evidence shows that Romney was listed as the CEO, chairman and president of the company after 1999 in documents filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission; took a six-figure salary, signed corporate documents related to major and minor deals and attended board meetings for at least two Bain-affiliated companies. The state document was filed two and a half years after Romney now says he retired from the company, demonstrating his deep and ongoing connection to the firm.
It's laughable to believe that Romney had nothing to do with the outsourcing decisions at Bain Capital when he was still listed as the CEO and president of Bain Capital, after he supposed "left the company!!" Why would a successful company like Bain Capital want their CEO and president to be a person who has supposedly left the company? That doesn't make sense for any business. Yet again, Romney is misleading the American voters, and if that's any indication of his leadership style then I don't trust him any farther than I can spit.

Romney Won't Release Tax Records. What Does He Have to Hide?

Mitt Romney, the Republican presidential candidate, claims to be the best choice for improving the economy. Yet, he only released one year of tax records. How can we trust that Romney will pursue a fair tax system for the middle-class and not just favor the wealthy if he won't release a full accounting of his own tax returns?

The irony is that his father, George Romney, started the trend of presidential candidates releasing tax returns. George released 12 years worth of records, enough to show that he didn't have anything to hide in his private financial dealings that would make him look less than ethical. As George Romney said, releasing one year of records, "could be a fluke, perhaps done for show." Mitt Romney, the son, should follow his father's lead and release a full accounting of his tax returns. President Obama has released extensive records, so what does Romney have to hide?

He has already admitted he only paid 15% in taxes by putting his money in over-seas tax havens such as in the Cayman Islands. It's legal, but it makes him look unwilling to share in the public responsibility of paying a fair share of U.S. taxes. It also makes him look like an elitist who doesn't have to play by the same rules everyone else does. If Mitt Romney loves America so much, why does he keep his money in offshore accounts? Why won't he want to invest in America by keeping his money in American banks?

During the Republican primary campaign, Romney said he'd release additional tax returns in April, and he were are now in mid-July!! Yet another misleading statement by a shifty candidate. This is what releasing a full accounting of his tax records can help show. If he has nothing to hide, then why just release a full decade of tax returns, and we'll move on. Even fellow Republican Haley Barber thinks Romney should release these tax returns. These are important issues in a time of economic uncertainty when tax dollars are especially important in helping seniors and the middle-class weather financial hardships.

When the rich don't pay their fair share in taxes, cities have no choice but to lay-off fire fighters, police officers and teachers. Today, those cuts are happening in American cities across the country. It's time for Mitt Romney to be honest and open with the American people. It's time he show us that he can be trusted. Demand he show a full decade to America and show he has nothing to hide.

Romney Invested Millions in Chinese Firm That Profited on US Outsourcing.

According to government documents reviewed by "Mother Jones", Romney, when he was in charge of Bain, invested heavily in a Chinese manufacturing company that depended on US outsourcing for its profits—and that explicitly stated that such outsourcing was crucial to its success.
TPJ: Romney's favoring of outsourcing companies doesn't give me much faith that he'll stand up to China on trade, or oppose jobs being shipped overseas. Romney's main argument on the economy is that his time at Bain Capital proves he's the best choice to turn around the economy. Well, maybe if that economy is in China. Under Romney's time at Bain Capital, China saw their economy begin to rival America's economy. Thanks in part to his business practices!!

The Republicans and Romney are also trying to say that Romney wasn't working at Bain Capital when that company outsourced American jobs to China. Not so:
The presumptive Republican presidential nominee has said that he left the private equity firm in 1999, but new reports indicate that he may have stayed on until 2002. The Boston Globe reported Thursday on SEC filings dated after February 1999 that state that Romney is the firm's "sole stockholder, chairman of the board, chief executive officer, and president." A 2003 Massachusetts disclosure form says that he owned 100 percent of the company in 2002, and forms indicate that he earned $100,000 as an "executive" in 2001 and 2002, apart from investments.
Mother Jones and "Talking Points Memo" have also highlighted SEC filings that suggest Romney did not leave the company in full in 1999. The date Romney left the company is important, since he cites it to rebut the charge that Bain invested in firms that outsourced jobs. More recently, Mother Jones David Corn reportedthat Bain invested in a Chinese company before even the campaign says Romney left
TPJ: A Romney presidency should terrify any American worker, if his record of outsourcing jobs and liquidating companies for profit is any indication of his economic vision.

Tax Hike on the Rich Wouldn't Stifle Small Businesses.

The Bush tax cuts for the rich have been in effect since 2001. The justification for the tax cuts from Republicans was that they improve the economy. Yet, they did nothing to prevent the Great Recession that began under President George W. Bush in 2008. Mitt Romney and the Republicans also claim that tax cuts for the rich help spur job growth, but again, if that were true then why didn't they prevent massive job losses? President Obama favors extending tax cuts for the middle-class because they have been hardest hit--unlike the wealthy.

Republicans also claim that not extending the Bush tax cuts for those making more than $250,000 a year will stifle small businesses. The facts, however, show yet again that Republicans are misleading Americans:

FROM USA TODAY (link): You personally are almost certainly not going to see a change in your tax rates. Not if you're one of the 98% of all small business owners who have less than $250,000 a year in adjusted gross income — $200,000 if you're single.

TPJ: In addition to the above quote, according to Payscale.com and Gather.com, "The average small business owner reports a yearly salary of between $36,000 and $75,000 a year." Thus, in conclusion, a vote for President Obama is a vote for tax cuts to the vast majority of small businesses and middle-class workers. A vote for Mitt Romney means yet more money is shoveled to the wealthy despite evidence that tax cuts for the upper class have done little to nothing to improve the job market.

Romney Supporters Dislike Obama more Than They Like Romney.

PHOTO CREDITKevin Lamarque/Reuters

This from, The Huffington Post: Try to contain your enthusiam, John Boehner. According to Roll Call , the House Speaker said at a fundraiser in West Virginia last month that "the American people probably aren’t going to fall in love with Mitt Romney."

TPJ: Republican Congressman John Boehner is essentially saying that if Romney wins the election it will be because people voted against Obama, and not for Romney and his policies. According to a poll reported by the National Journal, "A majority of Romney voters, 58 percent, say their vote is more against Obama than it is for Romney (just 38 percent)."

People are understandably frustrated with the slow economic recovery, but with the exception of Obama's first year, unemployment has dropped since President Obama took office. It has dropped from 10.1% in 2009 to 8.2% currently. It is true that unemployment was still rising in Obama's first year, but we were still in the throws of the worst recession in nearly a century. Obama inherited the worst economy since the Great Depression!! Thus, who can fairly expect any president be able to turn that completely around in their first year? No one willing to be fair. If you measure from Obama's second year (2009) to the present, unemployment has slowly but surely fallen.

So, you might want to reconsider your desire to vote against President Obama. At least give Romney's economic plans a look before considering a vote for him because they are eerily
similar to those of President Bush who helped cause the Great Recession. This from The News Tribune: Romney’s entire economic plan, basically, involves tax cuts and deregulation – in other words, a repeat of the Bush-era policies that led to the crisis. Read more about the article by clicking on this sentence.

Obama Vs Romney on Outsourcing Jobs.

CBS News: In his remarks at the Maumee Walcott Museum just outside Toledo, Mr. Obama described a political system at a crossroads and argued that his Republican rival, Mitt Romney, would pursue economic policies that favor the wealthy at the expense of the middle class. "Governor Romney's experience has been in owning companies that were called 'pioneers of outsourcing' - that's not my phrase - 'pioneers of outsourcing,'" Mr. Obama told the crowd. "My experience has been in saving the American auto industry.

TPJ: First we learned that Mitt Romney's vaunted "business experience" at Bain Capital isn't in creating jobs, but rather creating wealth for Bain's investors--often at the expense of workers:
Bain Capital is a classic “strip and flip” shop — a private equity firm that made its money buying businesses and sucking profit out of them by any means possible that often resulted in a stack of pink slips for everyday Americans. As the New York Post reported, during his 15 years as head of Bain, Romney “made fortunes by bankrupting five profitable businesses that ended up firing thousands of workers.”
But now we find out that Mitt Romney's job experience often meant outsourcing jobs rather than creating them. He created jobs, but not for Americans. He created jobs for China and India!! President Obama has proposed a 20% tax credit for businesses that bring jobs back to Americafrom places like China and India. The tax credit would be payed for by eliminating tax incentives that encourage companies to outsource jobs. But as usual, the Republicans in Congress have blocked common-sense policies such as the Obama in-sourcing jobs tax credit. Romney's record on outsourcing speaks for itself.
