This health care debate has become a real watershed moment within America and within the two, main political parties. The Republicans are straight out sociopathic and the corporate Democrats have sold me out for the last time. I use to agree that it would be better to get a weak public option than nothing at all but there is only one problem -- we didn't even get a weak public option!! The bill we have now is so crap that not only can't it be built upon but seemingly worse than keeping our current crap system!! So why would we want to pass a health care bill that has more poison pills in it than in an assassin's stash? I honestly thought the Democrats were only unable to end corporate control of Congressional power because of not being in power. However, now I am finally seeing that even the Democrats aren't willing to change campaign finance laws.Liberals, we need to move on -- the Democrats are no longer capable of governing so we must regroup and focus our efforts and resources elsewhere to channel our collective power and vision for the 21st century. I'm talking about taking the control out of the hands of the elitists in D.C. who have twisted the constitution in knots and putting it back in the grip of the people who build and sustain this countries back-bone, goddamn it!! That's why I'm putting my full support into the Green Party -- a party that refuses corporate money. A successful party can be sustained simply from small donations of members; look what we did to elect Obama. We mobilized and donated more money than ever. It's time to shake up the system and show the robber barons and Boss Tweeds of our government that we're coming and their days of control and corruption are numbered. We need to the move toward the European political model of Social Democracies if we are to keep up with the rest of the world. We need to wake up and learn to move with the times or die, and risk becoming a fractured, second-rate country. I stand with the people, do you?

I'm pissed also HBW. And as much as I would like a real party of progressive thinkers that could make a difference, I fear the only way is to get real progressives past the party chosen in primaries. The system is set up to take care of the two parties. County Clerks and secretaries of state are democrats or republicans. Elestion judges are one or the other. It takes a shitload more signatures in many states to run as other than dem or repub.
We have to beat them from within brother. Come up with a plan.
Truth:
I guess, I just can't fight anymore for a party that doesn't fight for me. I know the Green Party doesn't have the best chances but I'm just tired of being caught up in the two party masochistic system.
My only plan is to end money in politics but until then I'm done with both sides. When I see Democrats fighting to end that -- then I'll take them seriously again. Until then, I have to make this change to save my sanity.
I'm not saying I won't NOT vote for a Democrat ever again but it is a statement saying overall my loyalty is no longer beholden to the two-party system of corruption and little representation.
