McCain and His 7 Houses. Plus, McCain and a Military Draft.

And people think Obama is the elitist?!! The average American only owns one home and they are having trouble paying the bills on it let alone seven. You know how many homes I own? Zero. We can't afford it. We live in a triplex and can barely afford rent and many Americans are in the same boat. Yet there is McCain jet setting across the country and world stopping only long enough to soak in the hot tub of any number of his palaces. His extravegent lifestyle reminds me less and less of that of most Americans who are scrimping and working within extremely tight budgets just to afford the cost of living and more like that from that old Robin Leech show, "Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous" with that memorable tag line, "Champagne wishes and cavier dreams." I wouldn't be surprised if that is what Cindy says to Johnny before bedtime. How can someone who has 7 homes and millions of dollars understand what it's like to scrimp just to make ends meet? Obama does, he didn't come from priviledge and had to take loans to make it through college and only a few years ago fully paid off those loans. He was driving a beat-up car while McCain was drinking champagne and eating cavier on one of Cindy's jets.

So as Obama said today, I can see why someone who owns 7 houses would think that the economy is fundamentally sound. And what do most American kid's get when they graduate college? Usually a party with some gifts, maybe a used car and a little money but often not a $700,000 loft in a trendy section of downtown Pheonix!! But that's exactly what McCain's daughter received. Most Americans won't even come close to making that kind of money let alone be able to slap money down on the counter to buy a loft of that size. Most Americans are lucky if they can put their kids through college let alone buy them that kind of property to live in. In contrast, Obama said that they don't splurge much on their daughters to teach them to respect money.

Meanwhile McCain seems to have warmed up to the idea of a draft, maybe because he envisions wars with Iran and/or Russia? He did say after all that we will have more wars! And who is going to occupy Iraq for the 100 years that McCain famously said he'd be willing to stay in Iraq?

Today at a townhall meeting, an audience member praised Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) for his vow to “follow bin Laden to the gates of hell.” After a long question about veterans’ care, the questioner said she believed we needed to reinstate the draft, to which McCain seemed to readily agree:

QUESTIONER: If we don’t reenact the draft, I don’t think we’ll have anyone to chase Bin Laden to the gates of hell.

MCCAIN: Ma’am, let me say that I don’t disagree with anything you said.

TPJ: Some on the right are saying the McCain was simply agreeing with all that she said except the draft part but his words are clear, concise and easy to understand. He said he doesn't disagree with anything that she said and that includes her belief that we need to reinstate the draft. And in a rare moment of honesty McCain said that he doesn't feel the need to differentiate himself from President Bush. That's because he is increasingly acting more and more like Dubya and would basically represent the Bush third term. Yet he goes on to claim that he would work more with Dems than Bush. However, Bush too said the same thing claiming that he would be a "uniter not a divider" and turned out to be the opposite.

I'm beginning to think Magoo is in fact quite dangerous. Thanks for the post.
