I'd like to thank all veterans today for your service whether in peacetime or wartime. You are all special to us and we can never repay your sacrifice. I always think of my grandfather (especially looking at that picture above) on this day and his service during the first world war. He never came back the same and It took a great toll on his body from inhaling mustard gas. I can not thank him enough and I wish I could have known him.
Veterans we salute you as you salute the flag and our constitution. I am so appreciative that you sacrificed that I might have the right to disagree with our current war (amongst all my other cherished rights--those that haven't been diluted or outright denied by the Bush administration).
May we always care for you in the manner deserving of your sacrifice.
