Bill Richardson really struggled during the gay forum last night. He missed a beach ball sized softball question by a mile saying he believed that homosexuality is a choice but then later tried to back-peddle. He didn't seem comfortable during his entire segment and just came off as unprepared.
Now, he does have a good record on homosexual issues, however, compared to Rep. Dennis Kucinich Richardson doesn't have a clue:
This is a very important issue for me and so between Richardson's bomb and Rep. Kucinich's love fest I am now back to supporting Kucinich. I say back because we supported him in 2004.
So expect to see a Kucinich button on the blog from now on. I have really tried to give everyone in the Democratic field a shot and can't find anyone that I like all around more then Dennis Kucinich. Now, if Kucinich lets me down and when he bows out (which, let's face it, without a major sea change in our culture--he will) I'll be either writing him in on the ballot or voting for the Green Party candidate.

What a glaring difference between the two. Richardson sooled sooo uncomfortable where Kucinich seemed as if he was speaking from his own living room.
I'm glad you've chosen Kucinich as your candidate. I've found that I feel the same as you on issues involving the gay community.
I still feel that you're wasting your time on Democrats. Dennis Kucinich is no more a Democrat than Saddam Hussein was.
Get ready to vote Green or write in my friend.
Kucinich is a great choice, but doesn't have a snowball's chance in Hell!

where Kucinich seemed as if he was speaking from his own living room.
Exactly. It almost seemed like he was on ecstasy he was so loving. What an amazing man. And I agree that he's a Democrat in name only. I don't know why he doesn't register and run as an Independent.
Scot:
Yeah, I'm willing to do either. I'm getting just as disappointed with the Dems as I am the GOP.
James,
The Democrats ARE NOT as bad as the Republicans.
I love the Democrats; I feel like a kid in a candy store with the coming election. Any Democrat that is elected will move thing to the left about a hundred feet, and then hit the brick wall of resistance coming from the coalition of conservative Democrats and the Republicans.
You live in Colorado, a battleground state. You simply must vote Democrat in the general election.
If necessary, we can 'trade' votes. [I think it's legal, hmm.] I'll vote anyway you want me to in California, which is a cinch Dem state, if you vote Dem in Nov. Deal?
I wish Kucinich had Clinton's money. He's the best candidate on the issues.
The bog-money Democrat will take the presidency but here's our chance to fill local seats with sane progressive candidates who will truly represent the will of constituents on healthcare, the war, and spending.
Tom:
I'd love to vote for the Dem's but I have to vote my conscience. We'll see how things develop.
Shrimplate:
I wish he had her money too. He is by far the best candidate--it's true.
James,
Screw your conscience! [Whoops. What did I just write!?] Let your pragmatic fingers do the voting. Vote for whatever damn Demo gets the nom ... AND BE HAPPY ABOUT IT, no matter how disgusted and frustrated you feel. I want there to be a smile on your face, Buster, when that first Tuesday after the second Monday in November 08 comes.
I agree, Kucinich is the one we need. I'm getting an absentee ballot again this year and will write him in if need be. I refuse to vote for Clinton under any circumstance. She is little better than a Republican.
Until we divorce corporations from politics (never happen) nothing will change.
I will vote for Kucinich and sleep well at night.
Tom:
(sigh). We shall see. I'm really, REALLY tired of our choices EVERY. DAMN. ELECTION.
Lynne:
I feel the same way. I want my vote this time around to be a protest vote if Clinton is the nominee. I'm so tired of the Dems taking my vote for granted.
