I'm Not Surprised

A new AP-Ipsos poll finds that liberals read more books than conservatives. Some highlights from the poll:

– 34 percent of conservatives have not read a book within the past year, compared with 22 percent of liberals and moderates.

GOI: This supports my theory that the chances they didn't read many history books on Iraq before the invasion is high. Bush was too busy trying to finish, "My Pet Goat." Actually, Cheney was reading it to him one sentence a night before bedtime.

Hey Neo-Cons!! Try shutting off the right-wing noise machine, read a book and figure things out things for yourself.

In other news, Dear Leader is trying to say that Iraq will turn into the civil war that Vietnam went through after we left. Yeah, because they were already in a civil war while we were there you dolt!! Just like Iraq is already in a civil war that we can not settle. Besides, I don't want to hear any lectures about Vietnam from a guy who dodged the draft to go fight in Vietnam. He apparently didn't see it as that important so why should we listen to him now?? I guess (as Paul Begala said) 58,000 dead in 'Nam wasn't enough for ya, eh George?? And as David Gergen stated today (and I'm paraphrasing here a bit), "If you learned so much from history, Mr. President then how did you get us into another quagmire?."

Bush today:

There are many differences between the wars we fought in the Far East and the war on terror we are fighting today. But one important similarity is that at their core, they are all ideological struggles," Bush said.

GOI: YOU IDIOT!!! ALL wars are fought over ideological struggles!!! It's nothing unique to the Iraq war and Vietnam. One side has one set of ideals and the other side has their own!! This guy--Oh fuck it. What more can be said about this brain stem.

Oh yeah and George? How are those trade deals with Communist Vietnam working for your buddies in the private sector??
