Memorial Day 2007

To all the non-yanks (Americans). Today is Memorial Day--the day we honor our soldiers who have given their life for us as well as soldiers who are still with us.

I dedicate this post to honor my grandfather and the fallen soldiers.

(sigh) Yet another Memorial Day that finds us STILL in Iraq. May next Memorial Day find our brave soldiers no longer in that civil war. Heard on the news that America has lost some 1,000 soldiers since last years holiday.

May no more soldiers die for Bush's mistakes and may we always unite around our soldiers regardless of the administration their serve under. They bravely follow orders and do not speak out about the politics of war and that is where we come in and support them and make sure that they are never, EVER placed into a unnecessary war ever again.

I think that it is also appropriate to remember all the innocent civilians who have died because of Bush and his stupidity.

I'd also like to thank those you are serving currently and those who have since been discharged from the military. You are our best and brightest. I can never return the sacrifice that you have given. I will try my best to fight for you and your rights as veterans.

Thank-you for your service in protecting our American rights. May we work together to repair those rights that have been infringed upon.

Have a wonderful holiday!!

Well put. I think soldiers are starting to understand that we can appreciate their sacrifice and can honor them for that without supporting the war that has unjustly put them in harm's way.

I'd like to thank my father who served in Vietnam and my brother who served in the first Gulf war.

To Washington, I say this, "Bring 'em home". Let our soldiers be honored while they still live.

They are so tired....I know that they understand more people than the "liberal radicals" believe they are sorely missed. As a liberal radical, I'm waiting for anger to give way to solutions.

Great post James. I give thanks to every person that serves in our Armed Forces because I know what sacrifices are involved.

As one soldier that has come back from Iraq said, tell everybody the truth why we are over there and then give us our mission. It would be nice if it was so simple.

I think you're right. I forgot to mention my brother-in-law. Thank-you for your service.

Scarlet:

So true. They are EXHAUSTED physically and mentally. I am getting impatient with the Dem's for those solutions.

Brent:

Thanks friend. Yeah I too wish it was so simple. Those guys and gals have done EVERYTHING we could EVER ask of them and now it is time to bring them home to great honor.
