James Comey Blows the Lid Off of Fired Attorney Scandal

Have you heard the testimony from this James Comey guy?? It sounds like right out of an episodes of, "The Sopranos." Complete with Bush as Tony (the head of the mob) demanding ultimate "loyalty."

Finally, at a Senate hearing on Tuesday, Comey gave a riveting account of how he intervened in 2004 at the hospital bedside of Attorney General John Ashcroft to prevent two top White House officials from persuading the ailing Ashcroft to reauthorize the National Security Agency's domestic eavesdropping program. The Justice Department had ruled that the program would not be lawful without certain changes, and President Bush subsequently directed that the changes be made.

All well and good but will anything actually come of it? Probably not.

OT, but did you know Al Gore has a new book coming out? Excerpt here. Looks great.

Comey's testimony was just so powerful.

I think that it's going to be the lynch pin that will bring him to resign. Sen. Specter is hinting that Gonzo will resign before receiving a "no confidence" vote in Congress. I hope so.
