GOI: A breath-taking and flabbergasting story that slipped through the cracks of the "news media" that was focused on more important things such as: A symbolic figurehead old bag of a Queen visiting America to watch a 3 minute horse race--much more important.
BAGHDAD (AP) -- The mosque of Imam Kadhim, the most revered Shiite shrine in Baghdad, is a tempting target for Sunni insurgents. To protect it, Iraqi and U.S. troops rely on the Mahdi Army, the same Shiite militia that Washington considers a threat to Iraq's stability.
GOI: So we are going to allow an Iranian connected militia (who most likely have blood of American soldiers on their hands) not only to remain but thrive in certain enclaves. However, we refuse to even talk to Iran??? All this despite the American military working to abolish the Madhi Army in other places at the same time?!! They never cease to confound me.
What's next?? Letting the Madhi militia led by anti-American cleric Muqtada al-Sadr take over security in front of some of those vulnerable remote operating bases???
Taking sides in a civil war is not a good idea. Hell, being in the middle of a civil war at all goes against generations of military history.
