Have you heard this "war czar" bullocks coming out of the White House?? Apparently it's a position to "manage the wars." WTF?? Isn't that Bush's job?? He's the "Commander-in-Chief" (as he loves to remind everyone) after all!!! Or how about the SecDef?? He's the one in charge of the military branches for shits sake!!So far three generals have passed on the offer citing having too many things on their plates to take the position--like retirement and "having to wash their hair." All joke aside no one wants to be associated with "The W" anymore. No one wants to be the scapegoat for this bullshit war.
I thought that the Republicans are for cutting government bureaucracy and yet know we're creating the "war czar??" What's next? The "Oil Czar?" Oh wait, we already have that--Dick Cheney. What we really need is a "Bush Czar" someone to manage the brain-dead sod. Otherwise known as a psychiatrist. Shit, Bush needs more then one Czar to manage his disastrous self--he needs an entire Russian Royal Family!!! Anastasia included.
You know, come to think of it--Bush does act like a king so no wonder he likes the czar thing!!

The Baghdad security plan needs a security plan.
A suicide bomber got through the uber-tight security (possibly 6 check points!!) of the green zone and set off his explosives within the Parliament building deep in the heart of the "safest part of Iraq" killing 8 people including two law makers. The check points into the "Emerald city" are manned by mostly Iraqi forces and this type of incident makes me wonder how far along the Iraqi forces are in being able to fully take over all operations within Iraq. It seems that Iraqi forces are still rife with corruption and militia infiltration. It smells of an inside job. If we can not even protect the green zone now--then how are we supposed to protect the rest of the country??
One of the general's said this wasn't an attack on the parliament it was an attack on the Iraqi people. Well, that's absurd. Of course it was an attack on the parliament--that's where it took place--killing and wounding parliament lawmakers!! And they are Iraqi's too!! So yes, of course it's an attack on the parliament AND on Iraqis. Thanks for that insight genius.
This reminds me of the Tet offensive in the Vietnam war when the U.S. embassy was attacked. The Viet Cong failed but the fact that they were able to strike the embassy showed how bad things had deteriorated. This is the same effect that this attack on the green zone seems to be creating.
The Iraqi government is split and dead-locked along sectarian lines and most law makers have their own militias so anyone could be behind this attack. Obviously someone had a high security clearance to get through all those check points.

I was watching MSNBC earlier, and Gen. Barry McCaffrey was talking about the War Czar position. Basically, he said it was a position to insulate the President from blame. Why anyone would want to take that position was beyond him.
As for the Green Zone attack, go back to medieval times. Everybody back then knew when you were surrounded, that eventually there would be a breach of castle walls. That is what happened here. No more and no less. Unless the people in the Green Zone figure out how to make more friends in the Red Zone, then this will always be a possibility.
What kind of statement does "War Czar" make to the rest of the world?
If Chimpy says he doesn't want to do his job anymore, then I say Impeach sorry his ass pronto. Apparently running the war is too much deciderin' for the ignorant bastard. Let him stay home and cut brush while some grown ups take over.
Brent:
Great point on the medieval analogy. Very appropriate.
Yeah Bush is looking for ANYONE to take the fall for his fuck ups. Just like he's done his whole life. He's acts like a King but he's no King Midas. Rather everything Bush touches turns to shit.
U Liberal:
Exactly. It says to the rest of the world that we are hell bent on war and policing the world. No wonder they hate us.
I'm all about booting Chimp boy.
Perhaps they'll offer the "War Czar" position to Rumsfeld.
Kvatch:
Oh shit. I hadn't thought about that angle. That's terrifying.
