In an editorial in The Washington Post on Sunday Senator Chuck Hagel had a blistering assessment of the situation in Iraq after returning from his 5th visit to that war torn country. In one segment he offered evidence to bolster the Democrats position to debate Iraq in the Congress:
Significantly, American leaders in Iraq told me that they believed the debate on this issue in Congress had actually helped them get Iraqi leaders to grasp this point.
GOI: Hagel gives us a different view from that of the administration as to what exactly the leaders on the ground think on the debate in Congress. Much to the chagrin of the administration who wants to portray this debate as hurting the mission in Iraq. Sen. Hagel's view point is even more credible given that it is coming from within the ranks of the President's own party.
Bush and his sycophants are trying to paint the Democrats as cowards and "Defeatocrats" when it is they who are the cowards. They are the ones using our troops as cover for their inept and highly destructive and damaging policies so that they can shamelessly continue the statues quo to avoid having to take responsibility for their actions. And in the end the coward sneaks out the back door leaving their problems for someone else to clean up. The Bush cabal is like the captain jumping ship taking the only raft away from the disaster at the expense of the passengers (our troops in Iraq and the American citizens).
Another analogy is that of the spoiled child (Bush) who has never had to take responsibility. The child breaks a jar (Iraq) in the supermarket (the world) then walks away from the mess to play video games leaving their mistakes for the parent (us and the rest of the world) to clean up after and pay for the damaged goods.
They are the cowards. Iraq is addicted to violence and Bush is supporting their habits. They are the one's ignoring the American public's views, that of decorated generals, historians, members of their own party and opinions of the Iraqi people themselves. That is breath taking hubris.

This was a point that I made last week when Reid was getting criticized for essentially calling a loss, "a loss".
I think we all know who's really supporting the troops, and it ain't the 'Thuglicans!
Great analogy. Tantrum boy needs to be sent to his room.

That's awesome that we're on point and on message. :)

Yes he does. A permanent time-out at his ranch. Time for the parents to kick him out of our house.
