Senator John Kerry Rips GOP a New One. Takes the Gloves Off and Smacks Down the GOP Bullies.

Former presidential candidate Senator John Kerry (D-MA) lashed out in a response today, claiming that right-wingers are "desperately distorting" his comments about President George W. Bush to "divert attention from their disastrous record."

Kerry seems to be responding in particular to a demand from White House Press Secretary Tony Snow that Kerry apologize for saying at a rally earlier that people who don't do well in school "get stuck in Iraq."

Though Kerry insists the comment was directed at Bush, critics have interpreted it as an insult to US troops. A CNN video of conservative responses may be viewed at the bottom of the page.

"If anyone thinks a veteran would criticize the more than 140,000 heroes serving in Iraq," states Kerry, "and not the president who got us stuck there, they're crazy.

"I’m sick and tired of these despicable Republican attacks that always seem to come from those who never can be found to serve in war, but love to attack those who did," the statement continues.

"I'm not going to be lectured by a stuffed suit White House mouthpiece standing behind a podium, or doughy Rush Limbaugh, who no doubt today will take a break from belittling Michael J. Fox's Parkinson's disease to start lying about me just as they have lied about Iraq," rails Kerry, in the statement. "It disgusts me that these Republican hacks, who have never worn the uniform of our country lie and distort so blatantly and carelessly about those who have."

Kerry asserts that it is the President and Vice President Cheney who owe troops an apology for misleading the country into war, saying they have "widened the terrorist threat instead of defeating it."

"These Republicans are afraid to debate veterans who live and breathe the concerns of our troops, not the empty slogans of an Administration that sent our brave troops to war without body armor," the statement continues. "Bottom line, these Republicans want to debate straw men because they're afraid to debate real men. And this time it won’t work because we're going to stay in their face with the truth and deny them even a sliver of light for their distortions."

He concludes, "No Democrat will be bullied by an administration that has a cut and run policy in Afghanistan and a stand still and lose strategy in Iraq."

GOI: These so called, "Republicans" are nothing more then thugs. School yard bullies who have stolen this countries "milk money" and have generally screwed up so badly that they sling shit at other people because they refuse to look at their own disastrous actions, admit failure and take the appropriate steps to fix things. It's time to grab these bullies by their pork barreled ears and drag them in front of the principals office of the American voter to be punished for their actions by being voted out of office.

Kerry should apologize?!! For what? A bad joke about Bush?? That's what it was, a bad joke and Kerry explained that. The audience laughed. As James Carville says, "It's easier to explain a botched joke then a botched war." This kind of distortion by Tony Snow and the Bushies is the typically nasty, bottom-of-the barrel, shameless kind of desperate attacks that reveal the real neo-Republican slim-ball character.

You know what's insulting? A chicken hawk administration that sends our brave men and women into a straw man war. A war that started out on shaky legs which has predictably crumbled down around our noble troops and left them holding the bag. Because these pseudo Republicans are so clueless, so irresponsible and so inept that they couldn't find their way out of a phone booth let alone find their way out of Iraq and fix the the broken house that they built.

You know what else is insulting? An administration that not only botched a war that should have never been launched but the Katrina apocalypse aftermath as well. New Orleans is still lost in time because this administration fails at everything they do and have wasted America's great resources on their sick war of choice in the sands of Mesopotamia.

This election is a referendum on their actions (or non-actions) in Iraq, in "cutting and running" from Afghanistan to go to Iraq, in watching New Orleans drown and fall into chaos, in burning up a record surplus and writing checks that we can't cash to the tune of record deficits!!!

They are the opposite of King Midus and his golden touch. They have the fecal matter touch.

Yes, this is an election about their actions and not about a botched joke that some Senator in the minority party said. Please. Aren't you sick of their bait and switch bullshit tactics??? They have been the ones in charge of nearly EVERY aspect of our federal government for SIX LONG YEARS and they have done nothing but mistakes and now want to blame it all on the Democrats???. Jesus said judge people by their works so I urge you true Republican Christians to follow that wise teaching and judge this administration and your Congress person on their actions.

It's time to end the games and get serious about pulling this free falling airplane up away from the fast approaching ground of becoming a broken and busted country.
