So we all know by now that GWB showed up by surprise in Iraq and the biggest problem that I have with his speach was the ending. He closed with his usual "God Bless the United States of America." The problem that I have is that he was in IRAQ and not America so why oh why didn't he say "God Bless America and Iraq???"I know he was speaking to the U.S. troops mostly but come on, he was in IRAQ!! How hard would it be to add Iraq into his prayer. It is the same God after all. I just don't know why American Presidents do not say, "God Bless America and the world."
Maybe it's a petty thing for me to harp on but it just seems like it would go a long way to show the rest of the world that we pray for them too.
Oh yeah and doesn't it look like Maliki is trying to ignore Bush in this picture? Click to enlarge.
Bush: Hey Maliki?? I think I gotta take a leaky. Heheheheh. Get it?? Heheheheheh.
Maliki: No response.

"Heh. Hey Mali. Heh...Sure betcha were surprised to see me huh? Heh."
It does look like he's telling a Polish joke to a Pole, doesn't it?
And, remember, Bush's god told him to invade Iraq. Your consideration that they worship the same god is just another example of mushy headed one worldedness.
Don't you know that the clash of civilizations extends to Mt Olympus as well?
(Sorry, I don't write satire all that well.)

Zen:
Yeah, and in response Maliki probably said under his breath, "maybe if I just ignore him he'll go away."
Mike:
No, no I think you write great sarcasm. I picked up on it right away. Well played.
"God Bless America and the world."
Exactly! A lot of what's wrong with America comes about because the President of the United States doesn't recognise that he is also the de-facto political, economic and cultural leader of the rest of the planet as well.
I hope that Americans have enough education to see themselves as citizens of the whole planet when voting for their next President.

Actually, how could anyone believe that god blesses America as we suffer through 8 years of Chimpy's administration?
Mike Fitz:
I hope so too but there are sadly a lot of uneducated, chest-beating, "red necks" here in America who back their country/preisdent right or wrong.
Progressive:
Good point.
What an asinine post.
