Yet More Evidence that Alito Would Overturn Roe v. Wade

WASHINGTON-Samuel Alito, the Supreme Court nominee, wrote in a memorandum in June 1985 that the ruling that legalized abortion in the United States should be overturned, a position certain to spur tough questioning at his confirmation hearings in January.

GOI: I think that this guy is way worse then Roberts.

Yeah, and this just happened to be released on the Friday before Christmas, as well as the earlier papers proposing a method of gradually legalizing wiretaps on Americans.

This is intended as immunization, but somehow, when the hearings come around, I don't think it will be forgotten.

The one commonality between Alito, Roberts, and Miers is that they all recognize the whitehouse's claim of "extraordinary powers" during wartime.

And, if you look at the Luttig decision in the Padilla case, I think we know why Alito was picked over conservative darling Luttig.

Mike: Yeah the timing on this is suspicious indeed.

Mike: I do wonder if Luttig's decision was a fit of pique for not being picked. Luttig was salivating for SCOTUS.

Alito is definately going to be a drag -- someone who is not thoughtful or compassionate, a bobblehead doll for the reactionary machine.

I agree that Roberts is better than Alito. Much, much better.
