Supreme Court nominee John G. Roberts Jr. worked behind the scenes for gay rights activists, and his legal expertise helped them persuade the Supreme Court to issue a landmark 1996 ruling protecting people from discrimination because of their sexual orientation.
GOI: I'm liking this guy more and more. It's starting to appear that Roberts is more moderate then first thought and that he might be the best candidate that liberals and moderates could have hoped for.

Maybe the guy is a true (small c) conservative, after all. That sounds nice, doesn't it? It almost sounds quaint.
