Forgotten in Sudan

There is a war going on that is getting little to no coverage.

No, I'm not talking about Iraq.

I'm talking about Sudan.

According to CampusProgress 300,000 people have died in the genocide currently taking place in the Darfur region of Sudan.

The world is basically turning their backs on the Sudanese just like they did during the Rwanda genocide. Yet, President Clinton and other American and European politicians regret not having done anything to stop the Rwanda massacre.

And President Bush??

So far he has only sent former Secretary of State Colin Powell to tell them to basically "stop." Now, he is only sending over the Deputy Secretary of State. Pretty soon we will be putting Dafur on the back burner to the point that we will be sending Bozo the Clown over there.

Remember when Bush was saying that Saddam had to go because he was killing his own people with lethal gas?? REMEMBER???

Well, where is Bush on Sudan??

I thought that he stood for a "culture of life???"

I was not necessarily opposed to going into Iraq to help the dying citizens of Iraq but I am very pissed off that we went in there based on lies about "weapons of mass destruction."

If the main arguement Bush used to go to war was that Saddam was committing genocide then I think the rest of the world might have been more supportive with troops and finances.

So, here we are watching the Sudanese kill each other and we could care less.

So, where is Bush?

In Rome hoping for a photo op mourning the body of Pope John Paul II.

I wonder if Sudan is a major oil producing country?

You know what?

I bet not.

That's why you don't see the Bush administration moving the troops to act on this one.

It's shameful.

Yes, well-- we have to make sure they get a chance to use all the cut rate weponry that's been sold to them to reduce backstocks, don't we?

I mean, what else would the gun companies do with the old stuff that's been improved upon.

Methinks that I see a pattern here.

Bleh.

Shameful mess all around.
