I love a good tea. Especially green tea. There is nothing better then drinking a pipping hot cup of tea on a rainy day. Or when you're sick tea tastes like magic elixir. It relaxes the nerves and helps me focus on my breathing instead of my racing mind. Sipping tea is in many ways a form of meditation. You are forced to slow down and enjoy the flavor and warmth of the tea. You focus on nothing but the tea. Its very zen.
Anyway, I digress per usual.
I have found a new green tea and I love it. It has a stronger, "green vegetable" taste to it that i like. The brand name is Brassica and it is from the scientists who discovered SGS in broccoli as the next generation antioxidant. This from the label on the box: "The scientists @ John Hopkins University School of Medicine who discovered the natural compound Sulforaphane Glucosinolate(SGS) in broccoli and concentrated in broccoli sprouts, believe that SGS boosts the body's own defense systems. This includes Phase 2 detoxification enzymes, which promote long-lasting antioxidant and essential cellular processes that inactivate free radicals. All Natural." For more information go here.
Good stuff. So go out get some and drink buckets and join me in living to be 150 some years old lol. All of this tea talk has gotten me craving another cup. Off I go to mix another! (walks away from the computer into oblivion).

hee hee, I've just sat down with green tea and jasmine... MMM. I like it because I get the whole 'smug and healthy' vibe from it, yet it has (a little) caffeine too...
About the antioxidant thing; should beware of miracle substances extracted from food. In the food it may well have beneficial properties, but science isn't so good at recreating nature's benefits in supplements. Often it's a synergy thing (I just wanted to write that word, sorry.)
See my upcoming health link for more info!
Green tea with Jasmine?! Mmmm that sounds divine. I'll have to go out hunting for some. By the way, thanks for the health tip. Those damn scientists always ruin a good thing lol.
brassica tea, eh? i like green tea or peppermint. i'm funny about tea. like i can't stand those fruity-flavored teas. i like this one, uh, i call it 'poop tea', haha. my mom sends it to me and it's called 3 Ballerina Tea and it cleanses your system out. btw, thanks for leaving me a comment! i get giddy when a stranger leaves me comments...i'm kind of odd that way. hey, on your profile you listed schizoaffective disorder and bipolar disorder as interests...are you bipolar too?
diregard that last question. i just saw your link to a bipolar group. i used to belong to a bipolar group on MSN but i quit because they didn't post much.
Yes, I have schizoaffective disorder and A.D.D.
I'm glad that you posted. It is always nice to meet someone else with bipolar. I am on Celexa in the a.m. and then Ativan in the afternoon and Risperdal and Trileptal in the evening. Thats my supa dupa cocktail lol. Anyway, poop tea, huh? Hmmm...sounds interesting. Thanks for stopping by and keep checking in now and then. I'll be doing the same on your blog for sure.
