God. This kind of report is becoming all too common these days.
Here's the headline from MSNBC on this story, "Multiple blasts kill dozens of children in Iraq:Baghdad bombs claim 35 young lives; 208 Iraqis hurt across country."

It was also reported that 2 U.S. soldier were killed. According to MSNBC the death toll of children is the highest since the insurgency began 17 months ago. Meanwhile American fighter jets bombed Fallujah looking to hit targets associated with al-Zarqawi’s network. Two women and one child was killed in the bombing. To quote the MSNBC story: "The military says the attacks have inflicted significant damage on the network...Doctors say scores of civilians have been killed and wounded in the strikes." 46 total Iraqis were killed in violence across the country.
What the hell is going on over there?! I thought we were the to help these people? They are dropping like flies because for seeming to support our occupation. How can George W. Bush paint a rosey picture of events in Iraq? The place is descending further and further each day into chaos and thus even closer to civil war. The Iraqi Army will not defend their own country because they have the Americans to fight their battles for one. The other issue there is that the Iraqi forces are being blown up as they try to register for service! How can we rebuild Iraq when we can not stop the shooting and killing and stablize the place. There is NO way that elections can be held in January and I am sure the admistration knows this will be the case. That is probably why they scheduled elections until after the U.S. elections. In the hope that Bush would be re-elected and then could push the Iraqi elections date back. Regardless of who is elected in America the Iraqi elections should be pushed back. That country is just one huge grenade "that never stops exploding." George W. Bush has made TOO many mistakes over there to be allowed a second term as our President. We need to elect John Kerry and allow him a chance to fix this aweful mess that Bush has created. We were mislead into this war and now we can not get ourselves out. There is no way that we can pull out now. To do so would be a terrible mistake for everyone involved. Yet we should have NEVER gone into this war in the first place. We are stuck in a bad situation and we will be in this terrible quagmire for some time to come. There is one person at fault for all of this - George W. Bush.

I am intrigued on several levels, first, how can a thinking person ever vote for Bush, and two how can you be suprised by what is going on after studying US history for so long? We do have a propensity for this kind of foreign policy don't we? Here in Colorado Springs, all the liberals got together (both of us) and decided that politics was too ego centered to be of much help to anyone. Therefore, I find it helpful to practice meditation to get outside myself, and view the world from a higher place.
Mark: I am very pleased to welcome a liberal from the springs!!!I am not surprised at this kind of foreign policy. I'm just SO tired of it having studied it over and over again in U.S. History. I agree with you that meditation is a great way to seperate oneself from the ego driven nature of politics and foreign policy. Meditation does wonders for my relaxation. Thanks for the comment!
